Nancy Cappelloni, Ed.D. is an Educational Consultant, specializing in:

       Dr. Cappelloni’s instructional methods help a wide range of individuals, addressing and meeting their specific academic needs and learning styles. She works with individual children, small groups of children, families, and teaching staff. She provides the following educational consulting services:     
  •     Tutoring individual students, ages 5-10, experiencing learning differences       and/or challenges in reading, writing, and math
  •     Working with individual children, ages 5 – 12, on developing self-regulated      learning strategies, effective study skills, and learning support as needed
  •     Working with children, ages 4-6, on kindergarten readiness competencies and  emergent literacy skills
  •     Working with middle and high school students in writing their private high school and college application essays
  •    Consulting with families about their child’s school-related academic, social,       emotional, and behavioral concerns
  •     Consulting with families about their child's readiness for kindergarten
  •     Providing professional development to preschool and primary school teaching    staff and families on: kindergarten readiness, the transition from preschool to      kindergarten, emerging literacy, and self-regulated learning strategies
  •     Designing and directing spring and summer kindergarten readiness programs for incoming kindergarten students
        The goal of Dr. Nancy Cappelloni is to help each child become a more effective learner and experience greater academic success through well implemented learning strategies and intervention. She works collaboratively with the family, school, and other support professionals in order to provide an integrated and comprehensive plan, meeting the unique learning needs and strengths of each child.

Dr. Cappelloni is an adjunct professor in the School of Education, University of San Francisco. She is the Director of Kindergarten Readiness programs at Dairy Knoll in Tiburon, and works in private practice in Marin County. She has taught kindergarten for 15 years and preschool for 7 years in Marin. Prior to that she was the Director of the Belvedere-Tiburon Recreation Department for 8 years, where she designed and directed summer schools, day camps, and classes for youth and adults. As a Dance/Movement Therapist, she worked with children ages 3 through adults in various therapeutic settings in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Marin.
